Today I am so excited to share the recent brand design launch for a local intimate wedding venue! Ballenger Farm is a historic farm located in Northern Virginia serving as an intimate wedding venue, gathering space, and vacation stay.
While working with Liz, she invited me for a tour of the property and the historic home. By the end of it, I couldn’t describe the place as anything other than magical. Pure magic. In other words, the second you step onto the beautiful property, it feels like entering a real life fairy tale. Well, a fairy tale that includes chickens and goats! Not only that, but the home (originally built in the mid-1700s!) is overflowing with charm and history.
On top of everything, Liz herself is the warmest and most joyful person I’ve met. She is so welcoming and gracious and has been a dream to work with on this project.
Before we started, Liz was looking to elevate her brand to match the intimacy and welcoming atmosphere that her space offers. Our goal was to create something warm, whimsical, intimate, and timeless.
To kick off the project, we started with a strategy session. This helped us dive deep into the “why” behind her business and explore the fine details that would help attract her ideal clients.
To capture a more natural and approachable feel, I brought in some hand-drawn elements throughout the brand. For the main logo, we used a hand-drawn serif font. This detail pairs perfectly with the timeless and historic feel of Ballenger Farm. I also brought in a bit of intimacy with the use of italics and lowercase letters in the main logo. And lastly, we added a bit of charm and whimsy with an illustration of the venue.
I’m so excited with the end result of this brand and how everything came together. It was so much fun working with Liz on this project, and we will be creating a custom website next. Stay tuned for more to come!
